Kraken Eggs are rare and highly questionable specimens recovered from the depths, preserved before whatever was inside could finish developing. Their thick, unusual shells are believed to protect the creature within from the crushing pressure of the deep.
The Cabinet acquired these specimens after a maritime expedition returned with considerably fewer crew members than it had departed with. The surviving collector refused to discuss the circumstances and simply labelled the container "EGGS. DO NOT HATCH."
A perfectly sensible decision.
Each egg is handcrafted from polymer clay, individually sculpted and marked so that no two specimens are exactly alike.
